Didier Fournet is a French visual artist whose work explores the boundaries between photography, time, perception, and abstraction. Introduced to photography at an early age in Paris, he first pursued a long career as an Art Director within major international communication groups before dedicating himself entirely to an artistic practice focused on the transformations of contemporary visual experience.
Through the series Vibrations and Abstract Vibrations, he constructs his works from photographic sequences captured within the same space and over a shared duration. This accumulation of temporal layers gradually transforms the photographic image into a perceptual field where time, movement, and visual memory coexist. Rather than freezing a single moment, the image seeks to convey an experience of reality that is fluid, unstable, and constantly evolving.
His work is primarily rooted in contemporary urban environments: megacities, spaces of circulation, vertical architectures, and landscapes shaped by human and luminous flows. Through a meticulous process of digital recomposition, millions of pixels are assembled, displaced, fragmented, and reorganized. The pixel becomes a pictorial material in its own right.
The notion of vibration lies at the core of his artistic practice. It reflects both the rhythms of contemporary life and the visual density generated by modern metropolitan environments. Forms shift, landmarks become unstable, and multiple layers of time coexist within a single image. The viewer’s gaze is continuously challenged, displaced, and reconstructed.
Certain large-scale works, particularly the triptychs from the Abstract Vibrations series, extend this research by transforming urban space into vibratory matter. The viewer enters a visual experience in which the boundaries between figuration and abstraction, reality and perception, gradually become porous.

Didier Fournet est un photographe plasticien français dont le travail explore les frontières entre photographie, temps, perception et abstraction. Initié très tôt à l'image à Paris, il développe d'abord une longue carrière comme directeur artistique au sein de grands groupes internationaux de communication avant de se consacrer pleinement à une recherche artistique centrée sur les mutations du regard contemporain.
À travers les séries Vibrations et Abstract Vibrations, il construit ses œuvres à partir de séquences photographiques réalisées dans un même espace et sur une même durée. Cette accumulation de temporalités transforme progressivement l'image photographique en un champ perceptif où temps, mouvement et mémoire visuelle se superposent. L'image ne cherche plus à figer un instant mais à restituer une expérience du réel, mouvante et instable.
Son travail s'ancre principalement dans les espaces urbains contemporains : mégapoles, lieux de circulation, architectures verticales et paysages traversés par des flux humains et lumineux. À travers un minutieux travail de recomposition numérique, des millions de pixels sont assemblés, déplacés, fragmentés puis réorganisés. Le pixel devient une matière picturale à part entière.
La notion de vibration constitue le cœur de sa démarche. Elle traduit autant les rythmes du monde contemporain que la densité visuelle produite par les grandes métropoles. Les formes se déforment, les repères se déplacent, les différentes strates du temps coexistent dans une même image. Le regard du spectateur est constamment sollicité, déplacé et recomposé.
Certaines œuvres de grand format, notamment les triptyques issus de la série Abstract Vibrations, prolongent cette recherche en transformant l'espace urbain en matière vibratoire. Le spectateur traverse alors une expérience visuelle où les frontières entre figuration et abstraction, entre réalité et perception, deviennent progressivement poreuses.
Situé à la croisée de la photographie, de la peinture et des pratiques numériques contemporaines, Didier Fournet développe une œuvre qui interroge notre manière d'habiter, de percevoir et de ressentir le monde à l'ère de la saturation visuelle.
Son travail a été présenté en France, en Europe, aux États-Unis et en Chine, notamment au Musée de Guéthary ainsi que dans plusieurs foires et manifestations internationales d'art contemporain.
